Data Deletion Request
Effective Date: May 28, 2026 · Last Updated: May 28, 2026
TIP TAP WORLD LLC, an Arizona limited liability company ("TipTap World," "we," "us," or "our"), respects your right to delete your account and the personal information associated with it. This page explains what you can delete, how to submit a deletion request, what happens after you do, and the limited categories of information we are legally required to retain. This page supplements Sections 9 and 11 of our Privacy Policy.
1. Who This Applies To
Anyone with a TipTap World account — whether you signed up as a tipper or a worker, and whether you created your account with an email and password, a phone number, or a third-party login provider (such as Apple, Google, or Facebook) — may request deletion of their account and associated personal information.
2. How to Request Deletion
You can request deletion of your account and personal information in any of the following ways:
- In the app: open Settings → Account → Delete Account and confirm. This immediately begins the deletion process for your account.
- By email: send a request from the email address associated with your account to privacy@tiptap.world with the subject line "Data Deletion Request." Please include the name, email address, or phone number associated with your account so we can locate it.
If you signed in using a third-party provider (Apple, Google, or Facebook), you do not need to keep that connection active to request deletion — email us at privacy@tiptap.world and we will locate and delete your account using the identifiers we hold.
3. Identity Verification
To protect your account and prevent fraudulent or malicious deletion requests, we may need to verify your identity before we act on a request. Verification is typically satisfied by confirming that the request originates from the email address or phone number on file, or by a one-time code sent to that email address or phone number. We will not use information collected for verification for any other purpose.
4. What Gets Deleted
When your deletion request is processed, we delete or irreversibly de-identify the personal information we hold about you that we are not legally required to retain, including:
- Your account profile (name or display name, email address, hashed password, and account role).
- Your phone number and associated SMS consent and opt-in/opt-out records, except as required for compliance recordkeeping (see Section 6).
- Profile content you added, such as any display photo, biography, or service description.
- Third-party login associations (Apple, Google, or Facebook) linked to your account.
- Support communications, feedback, and other messages you sent us, except where retention is necessary to resolve an open dispute.
- Stored payment-method display metadata (such as card brand and last four digits) held on your account.
5. Data Held by Our Service Providers
Some information necessary to operate the Service is processed and stored by our service providers rather than by us:
- Stripe, Inc. processes payments, payouts, and identity verification. Financial and identity-verification records held by Stripe are retained by Stripe in accordance with its own legal and regulatory obligations and privacy notice, available at https://stripe.com/privacy. We will instruct Stripe to delete data on your behalf where we are permitted to do so and where Stripe is not required by law to retain it.
- Twilio, Inc. delivers SMS on our behalf. Message delivery logs held by Twilio are governed by Twilio's privacy notice, available at https://www.twilio.com/legal/privacy.
6. What We Must Retain
We may be legally required to retain certain records even after your account is deleted, and we will retain only the minimum necessary for the applicable purpose. This includes:
- Transaction and tax records — records of tips, payouts, fees, and related tax documentation (for example, IRS Form 1099-K support) are typically retained for at least seven years from the end of the relevant tax year.
- Fraud-, security-, and dispute-related records — information needed to detect and prevent fraud, resolve chargebacks or disputes, or comply with anti-money-laundering (AML) obligations.
- Compliance records — SMS consent and opt-out records and other records we are required to keep to demonstrate legal compliance.
Retained records are access-restricted and used only for the compliance purpose for which they are kept. When a retention period ends, the corresponding records are deleted or de-identified.
7. Timing
We begin processing verified deletion requests promptly and complete deletion or de-identification of the information described in Section 4 generally within 30 days, and in all cases within 90 days, subject to the legal retention requirements described in Section 6. We will confirm by email when your request has been completed.
8. Effect of Deletion
Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. After your account is deleted, you will lose access to your tip history, saved payment methods, payout configuration, and any profile content, and you will no longer be able to send or claim tips using that account. If you wish to use the Service again, you will need to create a new account.
9. Other Privacy Rights
Deletion is one of several rights you may have over your personal information. For information about your rights to access, correct, or port your data, to opt out of SMS, or to exercise rights under the CCPA/CPRA or GDPR/UK GDPR, please see our Privacy Policy.
